1. Soak chicken drumsticks in hot oil until colour changes. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat 1 1/2 tbsp oil. Stir-fry ginger slices, garlic and chilli until fragrant. Add chicken drumsticks and seasonings. Bring to boil over high heat. Reduce to low heat and braise for 10 minutes until sauce dries up a little. Transfer to plate. Sprinkle basil leaves. Serve.
