Advanced Find and Replace是一個相當好用的小軟體，其最重要的功能是當使用者想要修改某些文件裡頭的文字時，可以不用開啟應用軟體，就直接搜尋硬碟裡頭的文字檔案，利用這軟體的置換功能，直接將文字改為新的文字。

使用者只要指定搜尋的目錄，軟體會自動從裡頭找尋上頭所提到的文字檔案，然後會自動找尋這些文字檔案裡，是否有您所找尋的文字，如果有的話，就將其以新的文字取代。除了取代功能外，它還有「置入」功能，可設定文字插入在所搜尋的文字之前、或之後，這可說是相當好用的功能。

而且，它可以設定所要搜尋的檔案是在某段日期之間所製作的檔案、或一定的檔案大小之內、或其它更進階的限制條件，讓搜尋的結果更精確。

這個軟體雖然可以在搜尋及置換功能的視窗裡打入中文字，且文字檔案的修改結果也很正確，但實際上並不是真正與中文有百分之百的相容度，所以當您打入中文後，想要修改文字，就沒有辦法很正確的修改，這點要請使用者注意。
